The current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu establish that the first entry must be accompanied by a tour guide with a maximum stay of 4 hours within the archaeological center (guided tours last approximately 2 hours). If visitors are going to take an alternative route (Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu mountains), they will have 3 additional hours to make those visits. If any passenger wishes to enter again in the afternoon shift or the next day, they must request in advanced an additional ticket to enter during the new shift. There is no ticket sales office at the door of the archeological zone. Likewise, it is necessary to provide the updated personal detail (full name, date of birth, nationality, and passport number or identity document) of all passengers who come to Peru, the same that must match the identity document that the passengers use for this trip.
